About the American College of
Physicians & Surgeons
The American College of Physicians
& Surgeons is an organization dedicated to the care and
understanding of pain with regards to the
spine. Any physician who is board
eligible/certified or similarly qualified, and strives to
ameliorate pain, should seek membership/fellowship. Allied
Health Professionals are also encouraged to apply.
Membership/fellowship is different than
attending our MISU courses, which teach the latest in MISS
surgery and techniques. If approved for fellowship,
you may use the letters FACP after your name/degree.
Inquiries
for membership/fellowship should be

Since its inception
in 1999, the American College of Physicians & Surgeons has coordinated and
sponsored ten Minimally Invasive Spine Update courses.
In June 2008 the ACP&S will join with other minimally invasive spine societies
at the World Congress of
Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery & Techniques in Hawaii.
The MISU courses generally consist of live
surgery, didactic sessions, hands-on workshops, multi-disciplinary symposium
and course syllabus. All
attendees of the course will gain sufficient exposure to
the state of the art procedures in total spine care which will improve the
opportunities for their patients.
The courses
are open to all physicians and surgeons who practice spine-related
medicine such as orthopaedic surgeons, neurosurgeons,
neurologists, physiatrists and pain management/anesthesiologists. Fellows,
Residents and Allied Health Professionals are also encouraged to attend
and are given a course fee discount. Our faculty
are top-notch MISS surgeons who helped to pioneer the field of MISS such as John
C. Chiu, MD DSc. Participants have come from around the world to attend
our courses. To review our past courses please click on the link on upper
